Hi Kate,
From what we were told, early teenage years is a good time to have surgery because of your increased hormones and blood flow to the genital area. My daughter had her surgery before she turned two, but while learning about everything, the doctor told us that the ideal time for surgery is very young or around puberty.Very interesting that you had your surgery in GR (we're from northern MI) - we were going to go there for my dd's surgery, but I wasn't comfortable with the urologist we saw at HD. We ended up going to Dr. Rink in Indy and are very happy with the results. Good luck with everything!
