re: re: Accused of not taking meds
Aug. 7th, 2008   4:54pm

I was once yelled at, yes yelled at, by this endo who accused me of not taking my meds.  I am a SWCAH.  During my late teen years and early part of college, I was all stressed out, learning to do my own thing, determining what I wanted to eat, and doing all the stuff that MOST "NORMAL" people my age at the time could do.  My weight was going up and down.  I am a worry wart.

Anyway, long story short, I stabilized once I got my college years underway (toward teh middle and end).  I found a D.O. endo who has and is helping learn to be more in  tune with my body.  I can't be a party person.  I have to take it easy.  I have to get plenty of sleep- and live the life, and I kid when I say this, of an old person.  After I learned to put balance in my life- exercise, diet, rest, and being more in tune with how I feel, my labs have been great!!

Also, and I vaguely recall this being said at the last CARES conference, as you get older, your endocrine system learns to I guess 'self regulate' better.
