Sorry i don't have info on labs in LA, but I just wanted to say that it is nice to know that there are other parents out there who have been through experiences like this. I am new to the board, and it's nice to know that I am not over reacting when I see techs having to poke my son more then twice.
When my son was first born and they got the new born screening back they sent us to Mayo Clinic that night, the next day we were sent to the ER in Rochester so they could get a blood sample to be sure he had CAH. They poked him for 30 mins staight, then went to grab another nurse, and tried for another 15 mins, the tried everywhere, and he was just screaming. The worst part was that they pretty much had us cornered in the room so I couldn't leave. His Endocrinologist finally came in, and asked them to stop, and then told us they were going to take his blood through a vein his upper leg, and he asked if we would like to leave (he said he would stay there with our son). Needles to say when the results came back they were all over the place, and we had to do it again. I was so angry. Now if they can't do it within 2 tries we ask for somone else or we ask to come back later in the day (if it is in clinic)
