re: financial help getting meds
May. 21st, 2008   7:30am
I didn't qualify for state healthcare for my kids, because I am employed and have insurance through my employer. But I make next to nothing, and I have trouble paying medical bills as well. To top it off, this year we started with orthodontia. Stupid braces are $6K! I maxed out my healthcare spending account at $5K, which I spent in one day on braces. Thankfully our endocrinologist visits are at a local hospital. That hospital offers free care for people who need it. I submitted to the hospital my income tax papers, and now my kids get free care there. That is a bit of a help.  I also get growth hormone at no charge due to my low income. I was so angry that the kids didn't qualify through the state. Just because I already have insurance through my employer doesn't mean it is sufficient for their needs. I am one of those middle-class people who falls through the cracks. Makes me so angry. I am pretty much destitute because of medical bills. THANK GOD FOR CREDIT CARDS!!!!! LOLOLOLOLOL
