re: What are the dangers of not treating CAH?
Jul. 19th, 2008   11:14pm
Hockey is an awesome sport, but that is NOT what God created you for. Don't let your sport define you. Its what you do right now, not who you are.
Many women have a hard time getting pregnant with LOCAH if not treated. I didn't. I was 47yrs old when I was diagnosed and fought with all the problems of LOCAH individually with different medications prior to my diagnosis. I eventually got incredibly fatigued, my oily skin never ceased, continued with acne, anxiety, weight gain.
Its funny reading some recent posts about body shape. My husband used to grab my shoulders and say that I've got a good dose of that "Peasant Russian Strength" (I'm 1/2 Russian). I used to be a frail thing, then when I got older (LOCAH not being treated) my body shape really changed even though I ate right and ran regularly.
I'd keep up with your sport, but seek advice from an endocrinologist.
