There are 3 hormones that they checked that are indicators of 3 different kinds of LOCAH. All 3 are precursors to cortisol. When an enzyme is deficient, then the adrenal glands work harder to produce cortisol and in the process, overproduces one of the 3 precursors (according to whichever kind of enzyme deficiency). 11-deoxycortisol is what is elevated if someone has a third kind of LOCAH, 11 beta deficiency. It's associated with high blood pressure and is pretty rare, and that's about all I know about it. If you had 11 beta, your 11-deoxycortisol level would have gone very high. Most people with LOCAH are not deficient in cortisol, they just have an abundance of one of the precursors, which then gets converted into excess androgens.
