Hi rick, thanks for posting me back. It is a pleasure to know that there are other males with CAH. It is such a complicated issue. I will tell you that Tom took his medicine when he was living at home; however when he left home he stopped taking his medicine. He didn't take it for years and when he finally had his blood checked his 17 hydroxy was 14,000. The doctor put him on meds and within 3 months he was at 300. The next test came back in the 100's. I think that was quick to come down.
As for the doctor . . . he is very young and he may not be aware of a lot of CAH.
