My daughter has several symptoms going on, and no one will really say why.stretch marks beginning at age 12
elevated DHEA (not sure which one tho)and normal range Testosterone
thyroid trouble and auto-antibodies
extremely excessive sweating with uncontrollable Body odor
dripping sweat even when cold
hirsutism
acne
very oily face to the point of looking like sweat
overweight
insulin resistance
hypoglycemic episodes
near-fainting episodes with nausea etc.
unpredictable and aggressive behavior
heavy periods that started to become very irregular
She had been on thyroid treatment, but it was insufficient. We are getting better thyroid treatment now, but it is still a bit iffy. It did seem to help for a while, but symptoms are beginning to return. She had dark patches of skin from the time she was about 14 or so, mostly in crease areas. Her face looked swollen. These seem better now, tho she now stays out of the sun mostly so she doesn't get the darkness again. She's on Vitamin D supplementation.
Her sweating issues are worsening, the hirsutism is worsening, the near-fainting issues are coming back. Her appetite is iffy which wouldn't worry me, but our family has a history of severe vitamin deficiencies so eating and supplementing is necessary. The weight is coming back on, the hypoglycemic episodes are getting worse and she is craving carbs so badly. Her periods are getting to be a bit painful again and now migraines are becoming bad during her period as well.
Yadda-yadda.
She saw her gyno yesterday and is in right now getting a glucose test where you wait the 2 hrs. That's all he ordered tho. He put her on Yasmin bcp a year ago and that did seem to help quite a bit for a while, but I see things returning like before. The endo has done no repro testing on her at all, and only one blood cortisol test which came out normal. She is 19.
I had many of the same issues, as do my son and my mom, though none will do anything about it. They first told me my uterus was too tiny to have a child without several miscarriages. I started out worrying about twinning (son was a twin, but lost the sibling early on) and ended up not ovulating for periods of time, then went into premature ovarian failure twice before turning 40. I ended up with hysterectomy and still having problems with thyroid and what seems to be adrenal, but how can a person know without testing? She is following in my footsteps and I'm really scared for her as I have been disabled by all of this.
Any advice would be appreciated. I don't know if this is an issue for us or not, but I don't know where else to turn. I know I'm grasping at straws. Something is wrong and nobody can seem to figure it out. Please help us.
