someone PLEASE help w/ these ACTH stim. test results
Jul. 7th, 2008   8:41pm

the blood test results BEFORE (9:00AM) the ACTH stim. test :

17-hydroxypregnenolone            56 ng/dl

17-hydroxyprogesterone             58 ng/dl

DHEA                                              344 ng/dl

11-desoxycortisol                          0.10 ug/dl

the blood test results ONE HOUR AFTER (after being injected with the cortrosyn)  the ACTH stim. test :

17-hydroxypregnenolone            633 ng/dl

17-hydroxyprogesterone            144 ng/dl

DHEA                                             932 ng/dl

11-desoxycortisol                         <0.01 ug/dl

I'm so confused by this...why would all my levels be normal before I was given the Cortrosyn? If I have LOCAH my doctor said that my levels would significantly drop after being injected with the cortrosyn ? so why then did they all go up? I'm starting to wander if the lab mixed up the before and after results (but I thought my doctor would have caught that when she looked oven them if that were the case)...or is it normal for the hormone levels to go up after being given the cortrosyn if you don't have LOCAH, b/c when we discussed the results she seem unconcerned and said they came out normal (I g...also I don't understand the cortisol levels at all. I would greatly appreciate this if someone would help me understand this.

curious
