Just wanted to share that very low dose ketoconazole is another treatment for LOCAH that has been helpful in people who present with anxiety. Check out the following article for further information. Most endos believe steroids are the only option but there are knowledgeable docs out there who use ketoconazole to supress the androgens in people who have anxiety. Ketoconalzole can raise the liver enzymes a bit but I personally found it more helpful and I had less side effects than when I was on steroids. If people have mood issues (Anxiety, depression, etc.) with the LOCAH as many of us do, consulting with a neuroendocrinologist might prove helfpul as it did in my case.
