I don't know for sure why I did fine through surgeries but not with the flu. I was on dex longer when I got the flu (the surgeries were earlier).

Last spring I caught campylobacter (spelling? - it's an intestinal infection) and never even thought about stress-dosing because when my fever spiked (to 103!) I wasn't thinking clearly anymore. I didn't have an actual crisis, but I wasn't doing well either. I think I should probably talk to my hubby more about CAH so that he knows to ask me if I've stress-dosed when I get sick.
