Your treatment in my opinion is dependent on the severity of your symptoms. I live in New Zealand and I know no one that takes steroids for LOCAH. I was diagnosed about 3 years ago, I have chosen not to take medication thus far but I have regular doctor's visits and see my specialist once a year. Fatigue is my main symptom and that get's me down sometimes, but the hair is still at the manageable plucking/waxing stage! Some people take aldactone, the combined contraceptive pill, metformin, etc etc. If you want children in the future, that may be something to consider when looking at treatment options, although I had no trouble conceiving my two kids. Everyone's different : )
