My son started Lupron at age 5. He had a bone age of 12.6. It stopped his puberty in its tracks-it was definately to early for that! Naturally since he started the treatment so early we were on it a very long time. He is now 14 and has been off of lupron since spring of 2004. He has gone through puberty as nicely as one would expect:) I was concerned about fertility at one point, but of course, we have not had any reason to question that yet.
To increase his adult height, we also had to took Nutropin. It worked well, as far as increasing his height, but he wound up with SCFE, a rare associated hip problem (resolved in surgery) to the drug.
It is IMPERATIVE to take the lupron injection on the 28th day, according to our endo.
