I understand the weight gain challenge. I am now 27 and it is much more controlled than when I was in elementary and middle school. The weight gain is sometimes part of the medication. Are you taking hyrdocortisone or prednisone with flurinef, methadexasone, or some other drug. Some of the medications used have different effects on the body. I know it was easier for me to loose weight when I was on hyrdocortisone and methadexasone than on prednisone. There is also information on metabolism and sugar consumption. I know that people with CAH do not process sugar as quickly and a lot of can be stored on the body. Besides the medication, the other issue is what is being eaten, how much, and is there any activity/exorcise. I know if was easy for me to eat a lot of junk food when younger and never feel full. It is harder when younger to choose to eat the 'healthier' foods when all the friends are free to eat whatever they want. Hope this helps. Feel free to email me. jbrianmoyer@verizon.net if you have any more questions. My sister has CAH as well. I can ask her if there is anything I cannot answer.
