My son just celebrated his 13th birthday and he has SW-CAH. He is a normal , healthy boy that is into everything! He hunts, plays football, baseball & anything else he can find! I also have a 8 yr. old son that has it too. I had never heard of CAH until my son was born. He was 3 weeks early, and only weighed 5 lbs. , was fine and went home as normal, 5 days later , he quit eating and went to the ER , severly dehydrated, and after a long scary night and almost losing him several times, he was diagnosed with SW-CAH. I think that was the scariest night of my life. A new mom, not knowing what was going on , etc. But after my second son was born, they tested him and diagnosed him. We see an endric. 4 times a year, and have blood work and bone age scans periodically. Stomach virus were the toughest onthe boys, they always ended up in the hospital due to dehydration. They both have had tubes intheir ears, and the oldest had tonsils removed this past summer. Came through all of it fine. They have always taken pills, and never minded. They think everyone takes meds. When they were little, and would go to the dr. and need a shot, they would beg them to "just take blood" instead of a shot. I feel very fortunate to have the great drs. I have to help me. Good luck...Angie
