Lisa: Surgery is not always appropiate for every child. Remember that there are many degrees of virilizations and different reasons for surgery. Some need surgery for health reasons such as incontinence or other concerns. For a lot surgery can wait till the child can decide. No not feel bad for your decision. Your daughter will understand that the have waited out of love for her and have done what you feel is best. You are a loving caring mom and that is what your daughter needs. Do write down how you feel and how you came to this decision for your daughter. Then when she is older she will understand why you waited. I have kept notes and reports for my daughter while things are still fresh in my mind just in case things get fuzzy as I get older. I'll want her to understand why and how we came to our decision.Best Wishes
