Dear Lisa,

They are doing what's right for their kid and you are doing what's right for your kid. Is your child in any physical or emotional pain from not having surgery yet?

Whatever choice is whatever choice as a parent.  Some need to have THEIR KIDS look a certain way and stuff like that is what it is something like their known comfort level ...nothing to do with feeling ashamed or that you needed to be sliced up in order to fit into this society even though that's how it might feel at times ...Where are the doctors for my tumy tuck? that is a social emegergency : ) there is surgeries for other body parts also. They liken this to a cleft palate and that's it--that's OK and to be respected. If the nerves are there? Great and if not ? well we tried and it doesn't matter anyway because her sexual satisfaction is secondary to being able to drop a kid to keep the population going. Plain and simple that is her value, having her look any other way is unsettling not that we love her less but she needs this part fixed and would of picked the same thing of course. This is for her own good and we know what is right for her body. If the only thing that was offered was still the clitorectomies that would be the surgery that would be done if someone is going to pass judgement on my body or fix a body part that hasn't caused me pain yet ? hey three cheers for the doctors that are out there at least trying for better surgery technique.

And other parents maybe because of what they've seen in life are more comfortable with and find it a need to have THEIR KIDS have a voice in this particular topic building her up as a human being, holding body and mind  is a value to them because they want and value being around the same. Valueing the dignity of someone else's body no matter what because they strive for the same for themselves thus those parents need their kids input about their own body.

Five for me was an awesome age to have this done because I got the reason why. Surgery at three might of worked to and I imagine kids that want to know what the heck was a done to them will already of figure it out an done some internet searches genital exams For some reason CAH oh  way before Mom or Dad ever talks. I thought the 20 year old that posted about surgery done at right was very cool and seemed to have it together : )  So much for all those research and studies aboutthis being trauma becasue it's just life.

Lisa? were you the lady that felt guilty about passing on CAH?  YOU HAVE NOTHING TO FEEL BAD ABOUT!
