Is it cool when people call you an intersex person when you are married, gave birth to three children from your husband?
Why isn't CAH used with other endocrine conditions?
Would you like to be called intersex when you have CAH but aren't between the sexes? Any more than someone with a thyroid condition. Yo like umm props to those with CAH that are gender ***** but I not find that is the majority.
I'm sure there are people that don't have any medical condition that would like to use the word intersex also who do feel inbetween the sexes but can't use the word intersex and maybe the word should have a broader meaning including people that feel the need for it and maybe that would? does? include some with CAH.
But does the word Intersex work for CAH as it is being used now meaning in Australia people with a certain Intersex condition call put X on their passport. Is this what people with CAH want and need for their adrenal gland deficient condition?
Intersex---chromosomes and/or reproductive or sexual anatomy that doesn't seem to fit the typical definitions of female or male. So my friend with the little winky that all the women are "fighting over" yeah I'd put him into intersex why not? : )
As for the word hermaphrodite : ) that's what they hear and say because well hemaprodite hemaprodite and the distinction, break down, discovery of true hermaprodites vs. pseudo hermaprodites by Victorian Doctors isn't something of general knowledge by people and the ISNA which does have some good things to say would like to get ride of the term hermaphrodite and just use the word Intersex.
Are true hermaphrodites people with AIS? I have no idea but I do know that female pseudo- hermaphrodite secondary to CAH doesn't fit the majority of people with CAH. Meaning not the boys or majority of girls and as for the ones that it does the prader scale seems like better up to date medical term to use.
I've brought up CAH explaining the adrenal gland lack of cortisol and that it is under the umbrella term Intersex to educated psychologists and Doctors only to be asked: "So, you're female, right?" Yes, Dr. That is correct only female chromosomes, only female sex organs, no testes even though externally wasn't sure what the H*** I was at first
"Oh transexual !" (from the psych) No Dr. this is a Metabolic Adrenal Gland Endocrine Condition.
or, ''Hey, good job! Nobody can tell" (he thought i had AIS) No Dr. AIS is another condition.
the fact of the adrenal gland condition lack of cortisol lacking like a diabetic needing insulin is lost.
We need a complete picture of what our condition is out there. The one Doctor from the ISNA stated something to the effect that it's difficult for intersex people to even find someone to marry and with respect to Dr.Vilian and I think that is how you spell his name : ) but all of you with CAH and with husbands and kids really please just write the good Dr. a note and tell him it wasn't that hard. Finding marriage or for that matter finding sex should boot CAH out based on the Dr.'s observations and that goes for all those other doctors that write sex is a trauma for people with CAH they have to be kidding me. Doctors have been fiddling around with my sexual organs my whole life, I'm an expert in the area ...nerves or no nerves and thanks to the Faith side of this board only after marriage now : ) Trauma for CAH is sex with married men Now that is bad but you never read that on their survey and studies The picture of CAH is just so one sided and I have a lot of respect for that one side but also the other side when will it come and step up to the plate?
As a group it is good to shake out what and how Intersex is used for and about us.
If Intersex doesn't work for any of us with CAH cool or if it works for a small fringe with CAH cool.
