when my daughter was born the pediatrician informed me right away that she was a girl and even the endo said she was a girl although they would still be performing the chromosome test. after the test they said yep she's a girl just like we said and she has ovaries and a uterus etc...they never even used the word intersexed.
but, the insurance company labeled her intersexed. i sent her cards back and said that she is not intersexed she is adrenal insufficient. the doctors made sure that the cards were changed to say adrenal insufficient.
i do not believe for one instance that my daughter is "between" anything. how can you be between male and female? she is a girl and always will be and no one has ever doubted that. she likes to wear skirts and plays in the dirt, does that mean she is "between" genders? NO it does not, when i was her age i made mud pies and wore my brother's old t-shirts. am i intersexed or between genders, NO!!
