I can honestly say I know how you feel aimee, I had my first surgery done when I was 3 months which was performed ok i suppose, at five I then had reduction and reconstructive surgery, at 12 I went in for a vaginoplasy, I was in a teaching hospital so I too had random students poking and proding at me and talking about me like I was just a piece of meat everyday for 2months, the operation was a complete disaster because i got an infection. and caused me to have a peferated colon so once I was back in theater and they cut me from sternum to pelivis. All togther I had 13 operations and was in hospital for two months because of these skew ups they made at the teaching hospital. At 15 I then had further surgery to recreate my vagina which went well. I too have tried to commit suicide on several occasions. 2 years ago I was raped and then my life completely fell apart as I was messed up enough from the doctor. I am petrified of having sex as I am scared of rejection. I turned to drugs and alcohol and have just come out of rehab. I have since decided to contact a cah specialist which is a huge step for me as I will not let anyone touch my body. i going to have further surgey as I want to feel as normal as possible. So with regards to the surgery issue I agree that it is a good thing if you go to a private hospital and have a specialist in this field perform this surgery. Dunno just my thoughs, I am 24 and have never told anyone about my condition and this is the first time I have told my story.
