It was their canned response--which many people received. The fact that they actually ask for money in the last paragraph is telling. We sent out an alert to our mailing list and it ended up on some blogs of people who have in the past been supporters and they were pretty upset by it also.
From what I understand, it was to be one of their "hallmark' AF jokes and apparently got pulled after we sent out emails about it on 3/31 spoiling their joke, so your letter does mean something despite their reply. Unfortunately, they still haven't pulled it from their website. We are thinking of a response to counteract it along the line of a "study" that proves folks who support PETA do unmentionable things with animals.
