OK this is JUST MY OPINION......... I believe that this intersex issue will continue to be a debate as heated and poignant as the surgery debate. I personally do not classify my Granddaughter as intersex /ambiguous genitalia or ANY other title DRs. or researchers or uneducated people want to place on her because she has Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia. It is like talking to a blind person and talking loudly so they can HEAR you.    For the parents of girls that WERE born with ambiguous genitalia...... we are always going to be fight the stigma that is associated with this. WHY ? People are ignorant and are too stupid to care about another persons feelings ! ( I hate to say this ) But society as a whole will continue to put a label ,  nick name, slang term  or whatever comes easy and iniates the biggest shock value to there converstaion/ research or paper or story. We can correct them until H%^ freezes over and it just won't matter. Because money talks and selling a story or info about CAH or any other disorder is just not as interesting to the GQ PUBLIC unless it has the word SEX in it one way or the other. The best thing we can do for our children and ourselves is to hold strong to what WE know is the right terminology and use it as often as we can for OUR children to pass to there Children . Who knows maybe by the time CAH is not made to look ugly and feel ugly and be ugly disorder  we may have a cure! OH ! MY ! Then what will they do !  Bottom line I have a sweet little GIRL that was born with a ADRENAL DISORDER.  How her body reacted to the insuffiency is NOT up for grabs for ANYONE to label /discuss/ observe/ touch/probe/converse/write/ report/research  or expound on in ANY way. THIS is my child........  if you want to have scientific research or conclusions or terminology. Do it on something that does not have feelings or that will experience the pain that it does on others. To do it any other way only makes you an inhumane human being that wants GRATIFICATION at some innocent childs expense. sParents suggest to our DRS. on WHAT terminology we want in our childs medical records as the records follow them for life and are passed to other Doctors. Will it change overnight ...probably not ...but it is a start. Aimee..... I would not EVEN respond to some of the people who post and have no regards for your feelings or opinions on your personal being. DON"T EVER let them get you to the point of comparing yourself (even in jest) to goats /lab rats ect. You are much more than that and people on this board respect you WAY to much to see you post negatives (even in jest) about yourself. Dear you have proven yourself a million times over and fought your own battles to overcome ALL obstacles thrown in your path. NO MORE! You don't have !!!This jerk deserves no response from anyone. He is right about being insensitive to others. If you know it CHANGE IT!  So for the record I don't believe anyone is intersex or ambiguous or genitalia deformed or ect ect. They are people with names and hearts and self respect and deserve the right  to be treated as such!
