You cannot use this person as an example as the treatment this 'woman' received was inappropriate and not common for CAH females. If you give testosterone injections on a regular basis to any female they will gain male characteristics (enlarged clitoris, facial hair, muscle bulk etc). The masculine appearance of this patient did not occur because she/he had CAH!
As to the question of whether this patient is intersexed, then I would still say not, this is a patient who has effectively had a sex change (with or without their consent) and should probably therefore be classed as transsexual. There are many transsexuals who prefer to use the label 'intersex' but I believe this is wrong and causes even more confusion for those who it does apply to (such as XY women with AIS). Intersex is a biological medical condition that a person is born with (they have no choice). I personally dislike the term and as stated by others, do not feel it applies to CAH. However, I am not keen on using pseudo-hermaphrodite in connection with the condition either!
