I say the same thing that you do Martha, that my genotype didn't match my external phenotype.I always add the no testes part and only female chromosomes to futher what I'm saying just in case they don't get what those other words are . Imagine that ! you take away the cortisol in a girl's body and look what might grow ! cool but served no purpose : ) Also, I've addresed the word intersex the way that you do when it comes to CAH even down to the word subset. Intersex is a characteristic of what may happened due to the adrenal gland and doesn't included everyone with CAH. The term pseudo- hermaphrodite was in my medical records and knew what that was since I was ten it bothers me that others think this is such a trauma to have talk about instilling low self esteem right off the bat and that sucks because I can think of tons of conditions that are worse. I hate that medical people and psychologists try to look toward us to explain gender behaviors. Write more later off to work : )
