Eve.....asking the SURGERY question about to do it as an infant or adolescence is as controversial as any topic can come . You will recieve so many opinions for both arguments, All we can do is tell you what worked for our child personally and why we feel our solution is the best. I had my Granddaughters surgery performed at 13 months because that is when she was disgnosed and went into adrenal crisis and almost died. My opinion is the surgery is best done young as not to be trumatic on the child. Others feel it is best for the child to wait until she can make the choice for herself ! Different strokes for different folks.
