My son had a similar problem, he was not absorbing the hydrocortisone properly, he was also on massive amounts of hydrocortisone, and the doses he needed of dex or pred caused really bad side effects and he hated the way he felt. Before he started on the pump, he would need to take large doses every couple of hours as he also metabolised his hydrocortisone very quickly. With your stomach probs, it could be that you have are having problems absorbing.
Have they sent you to a gastro specilaist to see if you have a bowel problem or an underlying infection?
Have they given you full a 24 hour profile, to see exactly what is going oniwith the control of your CAH?
