Well that's a start at least. A digital site worth checking out if you're into that side of it as well is www.deviantart.com. Huge number of artists there, both amateur and proffessional, well worth looking at. Would also let you showcase your work :).
Since you're UK, if you want more help with CAH stuff, have you tried contacting Sue at the UK CAH Group? Their site is www.cah.org.uk.
