Hi Sarah, Congratulations on your pregnancy! I think it sounds very unlikely that your baby has CAH, if you have had genetic testing and been told your chances are less than 1%. Also foetuses with CAH do not tend to have a problem with growth (it is only after birth when put on steroid medication that growth can be affected). If you are only 8 weeks pregnant, I think it would be quite difficult to say with certainty that your baby has IUGR but be reassured that the doctors are monitoring you closely. When pregnant with one of my children, I was told all through pregnancy that I must have got my dates wrong as the baby was very small, yet when he was born (on time, according to my dates) he was a very healthy 8lbs 8ozs (hardly small!)
Although difficult, I think you should try not to worry too much as being stressed could affect the growth of the baby and I think there is every chance that your baby will 'catch up' given time. Obviously you are bound to be anxious, having gone through IVF but having succeeded in getting pregnant (which is wonderful) you have the same chances as anyone else of having a healthy baby, so the odds are on your side!
