22yr old female I have had many operations, I had the same operation as your daughter did when I was younger. When I started getting my period is when doctors decided to do the surgery for my vaginal opening. They took a piece of my intestine out, and used it to construct the vaginal opening. I was in the operating room put under for over 24hrs. When I awoke I felt like I was run over by a semi. Everything seemed to be going good as everything was healing and when they put me under about a week later to see if everything was holding up right. They found that the intestine wasnt adhearing, or sticking. So my mom signed for a skin graft, and they took a skin graft and used that. Seems fine but I still have to undergo more surgeries to get all the looks right. B/c I broke down with an infection and when doctors did the skin graft they messed up my lymphnodes and now I have lympodema of the left leg. They also messed my urethra up and had to take a piece of vein out of my right leg to lengthen my urethra. Also when I have to pass a bowel movement I get this intense pain, and it hurts really bad. So my best advice is make sure you find the right doctor and make sure they know what they are talking about before you are put under. Hope this helps.
