surgery for girls with swcah PLEASE HELP ME May. 29th, 2008 1:37am
i would like any advice from parents or women themselves who have had surgery. my daughter is 10 she had surgery when she was about 8 months old to fix the enlargement of the clitoris. i have been told she may need further surgery in a few years around the same time she starts her periods. this surgery is to make sex and periods easier as she does not have a sufficient vaginal opening and the vaginal tract and the urine tract has join together as males bodies do. this will be major surgery and some of her bowel will be removed to line the vaginal tract. there will be alot of scar tissue so becoming pregnant will be hard and insemination may be needed. alot of counselling will be needed before and after wards. my 14 yr old may need this too but it is more likely it may only be my 10 yr old. i needed to hear from other peoples experiences to know how they coped and how this effects the children. i am scared for my kids i wish they did not have to go through this. being a teenager can be hard enough. any help would be great.
