USA Student with CAH Traveling to Australia and New Zealand
May. 12th, 2008   3:09pm
Greetings To all in Australia from CAH Mom in the USA:

My 17 year-old daughter will be traveling with the People to People Student Ambassador organization to Australia and New Zealand in June.

She has CAH and takes 0.75mg Dexamethasone and for emergencies only, Solucortef Mix-o-vial Kit. She is very healthy, and can manage her medications on her own.

I would like to have physician contact information in Sydney, Brisbane, Cairns or Canberra. to give to the People to People organization if my daughter were in need of emergency medical care in Australia or New Zealand.

I would also like to know if she will have any problems with Australian Customs bringing medications from the U.S into Australia. Will I need extra written prescriptions from her doctor? Will a Photo Copy be sufficient?

Please reply back with any advice for someone traveling to Australia on the availability of emergency dosages with someone with CAH.

Thank you very much:
Suzan in USA
