re: Do girls tend to have a highr dose of hysone than boys?
May. 8th, 2008   3:59am
I haven't heard of there being any difference between doses of meds for boys and girls because of hormones, however that may apply during puberty, I'm not sure because we haven't been there yet.  I have a 9 year old SWCAH daughter and her doses are 4mg, 2mg and 4mg of Hysone and 0.05mg of fludrocortisone.   She has been on this same dose of fludrocortisone for quite some time and her Hysone dose changed just slightly about 12 months ago.  We too have been very lucky and have had a "trouble-free" CAH daughter (so far anyway!).  When she was a baby/toddler we had a few trips to hospital with the usual gastro bugs going around at the time, but as her immune system has developed she rarely gets sick and she has only been to hospital once in the last 4 years.
