re: re: re: For those who have had kids admitted to hospitals in crisis - A couple of questions?

I have resisted making comment on Jane's post for some time for fear of starting a squabble/debate. I'm sure she didn't mean that taking your child to hospital, if worried about their health, is a waste of time per se. I would hate to think of anyone keeping a sick child at home, simply because they didn't want to "waste" someone's time, and then having a tragic outcome.

If worried about your child, please seek professional medical advice! My husband is a registered nurse at a major hospital and when a parent rings to ask if they should be seen, he replies " If you are concerned enough to ring, it warrents a visit to make sure your child is well".

As I said,  Jane doesn't suggest/imply keeping a 'very' sick child at home, but tragedy/ a turn of events  can happen in an instant.
