re: For those who have had kids admitted to hospitals in crisis - A couple of questions?
Jul. 14th, 2007   3:48am

My SWCAH son has been in & out of hospital the last few months!!

I also have a letter from the specialist stating that both sons are to be seen within 30 minutes, needs IV cortisone, glucose if blood sugar is low and to call the endo on call immediately.  I have taken this letter to several hospitals and the treatment has always been the same.

If my GP is open we just go there immediately and he does the cortisone via IV and asseses him and calls their endo and if they are still not well he calls the hospital.

Although recently we were at the GP who called Nambour Hospital, we went there,  and then we had to drive to the Mater at Brisbane as Nambour were not comfortable with the situation, (suspected appendicitis).
