We have moved from NSW to QLD and my kids had to change schools. The last school we went to were absolutely fantastic, and all the teachers knew what needed to be done if my then 5yr old SWCAH son went into an adreneal crisis.
The last few months I noticed that my son was severely drained after school and was not enjoying school. I took him to my GP who used to be an endo in Melbourne, who sugested that my now 7yr old go up a grade (Yr 3). I approached the school and during the meeting with his teacher & Principal, the teacher said "What is the condition he has again?". I immediately took him out of that school, and also found out that my 10yr old daughter was reminding him to take his meds, and when she was not there he had forgotten to take his meds as they were still in his pillbox. I had to continually remind the school even though there was a letter from the GP stating how crucial it is that he take his meds on time.
He is now at a new fantastic school in Yr 3. He was apparently emotionally, socially & academicaly ready to be put into Yr 3. I was wondering if anyone else has had the same problems with schooling?
