re: Toddler waking up very flat?
Jul. 27th, 2006   3:46am
The same thing happened with our 7 year old SWCAH daughter when she was about 13 months old.  She had quite  a severe adrenal crisis and was barely conscious by the time I got her to hospital.  The doctors attended to her straight away, put the drip in for hydrocortisone and she eventually came good in a few hours.  Same circumstances as you, didn't wake up at usual time, had to wake her, very drowsy, kept falling asleep etc.  She also didn't have anything evident before she went to bed.  I phoned her doctor and he said to get her to the hospital ASAP, which I did.   We still don't know what the problem was and that is the only time something like that has happened, but it was very very scary.  Any other time she has been admitted to hospital it has been for vomitting.   It is probably worth documenting this episode of your daughters and mentioning it to her doctor/endo at the next visit.
