I,ve had 3 children. My first was SWCAH with my next 2 one a carrier and the other "normal". I did exactly as Robin is currently doing with the exception I had a CVS instead of an anmio. It meant I could have it earlier. CVS's are usuall done 12-13 weeks as opposed to an anmio at 18 weeks. It meant I didn't have to be on the dex for any longer than necessary if all was well. As both my next 2 pregnancies were non-CAH I could wean of the dex by 15-16 weeks. I started the dex at 6 1/2 weeks as it needs to be started before the baby starts to develop genitalia. My side effects weren't "too bad" compared to some others. I was constantly eating (although not as bad with baby #3-no time!) but just tried to eat good food so my weight gain wasn't over the top. My biggest problem was insomnia. i would average about 5 hours a night and would wake would the first wee stop(usually about 1am!) and stay awake until usually 4-5am or sometimes until it was time to get up. It's not real fun when you have 3 babies in 4 years! I think if I ever did it again I would take sleeping tablets every 2 or 3 nights to get at least a few good nights sleep(you can get ones that aren't harmful to babe). I am glad I did it though
