I have only just found this site so I have alot of unanswered questions. My son is 3 years old and is also on Hydrocortisone 4 and under Mike Thomsett of Brisbane and he is sharing care with a pediatrician in Toowoomba. Do you find your children have behaviourial side effects from the medication and are you satisified with Dr Thomsett? Even though Scott is only 3 years old, he is 115cm tall and weighs 21 1/2 kilos. A very big 3 year old! He doesn't over eat in a meal, for instance for tea he has 1 sausage and a teaspoon of potatoe, a drink of milo and perhaps a bowl of custard. I know that the mediciation is an appetizer stimulant but we are going to see a dietitcian on the 18 February to see if diet will help him in any way. He is very aggressive and is prone to crying bouts (yes, I do realise that a normal 3 year old will do this also but he is more so) and to running away from me or just plain ignoring me - sometimes I would get a better response from a brick wall!!! When I try to reprimand him for something, I have to hold his head in my hands to stop him being distracted by something and then he will look everywhere else but at me? Any suggestions are most welcome, as I am at the end of my tether and need answers to help him & me. He starts Kindy this year and we are having trouble getting a Medic Alert braclet to stay on him, he quite willing wears one. Any suggestions on this? We have tried a chain link braclet and he lost this one and the new one has a watch woven band but this keeps coming off.
