Junior Motorcross/Broken Bones
May. 16th, 2003   1:13am

I wondered if anyone can tell me of their experiences with broken bones.  My daughter has just started doing junior motorcross and I am so worried about how to handle that situation should it occur.  At the moment she rides a pw50 (50cc) bike and only puts around the track but as she gets older and moves onto bigger, faster bikes the risk increases greatly that she will injure herself.  You are probably wondering why I am crazy enough to let her do this sport but there is nothing else she wants to do.  Both my kids are insanely crazy about motorbikes, it's there passion and I don't want to be a total ogre and keep them from it.  I figure riding at a club under strict rules and safety regulations is the best way to indulge their hobby but I still worry.

I do know all about giving the solu cortef injection and they always have ambulance staff on hand at every race to deal with emergencies but I still worry.  What I really want to know is how badly did your kids react to broken bones, did they have a severe adrenal crisis?

Any advice would be appreciated

Jane
